Range Clearing

Phoenix Air is a prime contractor to the U.S. Missile Defense Agency providing maritime range surveillance in support of the Terminal High Altitude Air Defense (THAAD) program and Flight Test Mission program at several different military range facilities. The company utilizes specially modified Gulfstream aircraft which are equipped with the sophisticated Raytheon SeaVue© sea surveillance radar system.

Phoenix Air is also contracted by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to operate specially modified Gulfstream aircraft capable of providing airborne telemetry acquisition support at the Barking Sands Test Range Facility in Kauai, Hawaii, for use during tests of various experimental aircraft and missile flight operations, including the DARPA Hypersonic Test Vehicle and Mars XX.
