The Air Ambulance Division of Phoenix Air began in 2003 and quickly grew to become one of the leading world-wide commercial air ambulance owner/operators. Accredited by both CAMTS and NAAMTA, Phoenix Air Group is one of a very select group of dual-accredited providers, representing less than 5% of all air ambulance companies licensed for worldwide operations.

Professional Air Ambulance

Phoenix Air has been providing worldwide professional Air Ambulance patient evacuation and transfer services for over 25 years. The company has a wholly-owned and operated fleet of 40 aircraft, of which nine are dedicated for air ambulance use. We specialize in the highly complex, long distance transport of acutely ill or injured adults and children. Each transport has a minimum of a two-person medical crew, consisting of a critical care trained/experienced flight nurse and a nationally registered critical care trained flight paramedic.

Phoenix Air’s dedicated fleet of specially-modified medical interior air ambulance aircraft includes Learjet model 35 jet aircraft for domestic flights and Learjet model 36 jet aircraft for longer, international flights. We also own and operate the only three civilian Gulfstream G-III aircraft in the world equipped with a Gulfstream factory-installed cargo door. This capability allows us to transport multiple patients, patients requiring specialized over-sized support equipment, as well as VIP patients with the large, stand up cabin provided by the G-III.

Each air ambulance aircraft is equipped with current, state of the art medical equipment, certified for use in the air ambulance environment.

Equipment and supplies included on every transport include:

  • Zoll X monitors
  • Hamilton Ventilator
  • McGrath video laryngoscopes
  • Multi channel IV pumps
  • Multiple suction pumps
  • Extensive ICU/Emergency medications and supplies
  • Extra capacity oxygen supply

ACCREDITATION

Phoenix Air has held accreditation from CAMTS (Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems) continuously since 2004 and achieved NAAMTA (National Accreditation Alliance of Medical Transport Applications) accreditation in 2017. Phoenix Air is one of a very select few worldwide programs to hold full accreditation from both CAMTS and NAAMTA.

Phoenix Air is also contracted by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and the U.S. Department of State (DOS) to transport their sick or injured employees worldwide. Hundreds of these Government employee patients have been flown every year for over the past 15 years safely and without incident both domestically and throughout the world.

AWARDS

Phoenix Air has been privileged to receive numerous awards over the years recognizing our service to the industry. Most recently we were recognized by the U.S. Department of State as their Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year for 2017, AAMS (Association of Air Medical Systems) with the 2015 Chairman’s Award for our work transporting over 40 patients during the 2014 – 2015 Ebola outbreak, and the 2016 Fixed Wing Award of Excellence.

In 2009, Phoenix Air received the Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation Outstanding Flight Award and the Alber-Rowley trophy. The award spotlights flights involving superior airmanship and operational achievements performed in Gulfstream aircraft. It highlights significant real-world business and special-mission aviation operations by a Gulfstream operator each year.
