International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO)
The International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO), developed by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) and its member associations, is a recommended code of best practices designed to help flight departments worldwide achieve high levels of safety and professionalism.
NATIONAL ACCREDITATION ALLIANCE MEDICAL TRANSPORT APPLICATIONS
NAAMTA champions medical transport accreditation, offering procedures that include guidelines for developing a system focused on transport safety, patient care, quality management, and continuous improvement. NAAMTA’s certified quality management system is audited annually by PRI Registrar, which is an ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board-approved Registrar certifying organizations to a variety of management systems including ISO 9001.
U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Air Transportation Program
The U.S. Department of Defense Commercial Airlift Review Board has approved Phoenix Air to participate in the DOD Air Transportation Program. This approval is based on inspections and aircraft check rides performed by the DOD Air Carrier Survey and Analysis Office, U.S. Air Force Headquarters, Air Mobility Command (AMC). Commercial air carriers are audited and inspected on an ongoing basis for authority to transport DOD personnel and contractors.
Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems
The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) accredits Phoenix Air’s air ambulance operations. Developed exclusively by and for the air medical transportation industry, this national accreditation organization focuses on quality of patient care and safety of the transport environment through an in-depth on-site review by professional CAMTS surveyors. CAMTS accredits both rotor wing (helicopter) and fixed wing (airplane) operators.
Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command
The U.S. Department of Defense Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) provides global surface deployment command & control, and distribution operations to meet national security objectives in both peacetime and war. Phoenix Air is an approved air carrier for SDDC for transport of sensitive cargo and AA&E cargo.
Association of Air Medical Services
Phoenix Air is a member of the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS), an international association established in 1980 to serve the providers of air and surface medical transport systems. AAMS is a voluntary non-profit organization, which encourages and supports its members in maintaining a standard of performance reflecting safe operations and efficient patient care. AAMS is built on the idea that representation from a variety of medical transport services and businesses can be brought together to share information, collectively resolve problems and provide leadership in the medical transport community.
FlightSafety International
FlightSafety International (FSI) is the world’s largest provider of aviation training, with over 65,000 pilots trained annually at 42 Learning Centers in the U.S., Canada, France and U.K. All Phoenix Air pilots are under full-service training contracts at FSI. Each pilot must first attend “Initial Training” in each new type aircraft he or she is certified to fly, attending from two to three weeks of classroom instruction and cockpit time in FSI’s advanced flight simulators. FSI has over 200 advanced simulators. This training is then continued by each pilot’s annual participation in “Recurrent Training” in each type aircraft. Recurrent Training lasts a week and includes both classroom and simulator time. FSI’s advanced cockpit simulators allow pilots to experience a wide range of complex flight control issues and to practice a wide range of emergency procedures, all followed by thorough critique from FSI’s 1,800 professional instructors on staff. Phoenix Air also contracts aircraft maintenance training through FSI.
International Society of Explosives Engineers
The International Society of Explosives Engineers (ISEE) was formed in 1974 as a professional society dedicated to promoting the safe and controlled use of explosives in mining, quarrying, construction, manufacturing, demolition, aerospace, forestry, avalanche control, art, automotive, special effects, exploration, seismology, agriculture, law enforcement and many other peaceful uses of explosives.
As the world leader in transporting explosives by air, Phoenix Air joined ISEE as a platform for marketing its transportation services and participating in safety forums with fellow member companies.
With more than 4,500 members from 90 countries, and with 35 Chapters in the United States, Canada, Australia, and South America, ISEE is recognized as a world leader in providing explosives technology, education, information and promoting public understanding of the benefits of explosives. In addition, ISEE, with individual members acting as resources, has consistently been at the forefront of efforts to address legislation and regulation on the use of explosives at the international, federal and state level.
National Business Aviation Association
Phoenix Air is a member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), a non-profit, nonpartisan Washington, D.C.-based organization dedicated to the success of the business aviation community. For 60 years, the NBAA has served the aviation community through its leadership efforts at all levels of government and business, both in the U.S. and worldwide. NBAA represents the aviation interests of more than 7,000 companies. NBAA member companies together earn annual revenues approaching $5 trillion dollars – a number that is about half of the U.S. gross domestic product – and employ more than 19 million people worldwide. The NBAA values include safety, efficiency, relevance, versatility, integrity, commitment, excellence and satisfaction. The NBAA is Phoenix Air’s voice in national policies affecting the aviation industry.
National Air Transportation Association
Phoenix Air is a member of the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), a national association of aviation business service providers. NATA’s mission is three-fold: to be the leading national trade association representing the business interests of general aviation service companies on legislative and regulatory matters at the federal level; to provide education, services and benefits to its members that contribute to their long-term economic success; and to insure the well-being and continuity of the association.

Phoenix Air Group is a member in good standing of the Cartersville-Bartow County (Georgia) Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Phoenix Air is a strong advocate of participating with and supporting in joining together as a unified voice of the local business community. Phoenix Air’s facilities at the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport are frequently visited by area school children participating in airport field trips, and Phoenix Air employees participate in career fairs promoting the aviation industry.
